Staff News wants your stories for UNICEF’s 70th Anniv.: by NOV 01

Staff News is looking for your stories to mark UNICEF’s 70th anniversary.

It is a moment to celebrate our past and imagine our future.

Some ideas for staff, consultants, retirees and any children in your life:

—Share one moment when you were most proud to be a UNICEF staff member.

—What does it mean to you to be an international civil servant?

—What will the international civil service look like in 20 years, when children today start to join it?

—Share one idea (or two or three) for how UNICEF can best honor and sustain its 70-year legacy?

—What one lesson (or two or three) can we learn from our past to become a stronger organization?

—What does UNICEF need to do to reach every child?

Feel free to explore your own ideas as well. You can send articles (100 to 2,500 words), current or past photos with captions, graphics or illustrations, or scans of memorabilia.

Submissions are welcome in English, French and Spanish.

Deadline: 1 November

Please send articles and/or queries to the editor, Gretchen Luchsinger, at: gluchsingersidhu(at)unicef.org OR unicefstaffnews(at)gmail.com

About adhiratha

I joined the UN Secretariat in 1973 and UNICEF in 1974. During 2005-2006 I was on loan from UNICEF to UN Secretariat for special projects and between 2007 to 2010 was a consultant specialist for UNFPA. Have also been consultant or unpaid volunteer for various NGO's . My fathers favorite quote from Sri Chinmoy was : "There is only one perfect road and that road is ahead of you ,, Always Ahead of you...". Association with organizations that seek to implement the UN Charters goal of practical "oneness" feels like an inner connection or reality that is not time or position bound.
